Tammy Hawes is VP, Payer Solutions at HealthStream, where she leads the payer business for V12 Enterprise, a HealthStream solution for provider data management, credentialing, enrollment, and network management.
Hawes founded Virsys12 in 2011 and, across nearly four decades in healthcare technology, built it into an Inc. 5000 company and a Salesforce partner recognized with the 2024 Salesforce Partner Innovation Award. HealthStream acquired Virsys12 in 2025, and Hawes now leads its payer go-to-market.
Before founding Virsys12, Hawes held CIO and CTO roles across healthcare and technology organizations, including Primex, Paradigm Health, Theraphysics, and Behavioral Healthcare (now Ardent).
Her recognition includes the East Tennessee State University College of Business and Technology Hall of Fame (2014), the NEXT Award for Technology Start-Up (2013), Inc. 5000 honors (2023 and 2024), and Becker’s Healthcare recognition (2023–2025). She is a longtime contributor to the Forbes Technology Council.
A Mississippi native, Hawes holds a B.S. in Computer Science from East Tennessee State University.
