Dreamforce Highlights: Health Cloud, Artificial Intelligence and More

Every year, Dreamforce takes inspiration, learning and innovation to new heights, and this year was no exception. Our team returned from Dreamforce 2016 with plenty of insights and ideas that will be fueling our strategies for our clients for the year ahead.
Here are just a few of the highlights we captured:
1. Salesforce Einstein Displays Its Genius
In keeping with Albert Einstein’s dictum that the definition of genius is taking the complex and making it simple, Salesforce Einstein is removing the complexity of artificial intelligence (AI), enabling any company to deliver smarter, personalized and more predictive customer experiences. Salesforce Einstein is a set of best-in-class platform services that bring advanced AI capabilities into the core of the Customer Success Platform, making Salesforce the world’s smartest CRM.
Virsys12’s Director of Sales, Russell McBryde, says Einstein has some intriguing implications for the future of healthcare IT: “Einstein made my head spin with the potential capabilities for healthcare. It could open up new frontiers in predictive analytics to improve patient care.”
2. Health Cloud Delivers an “Intelligent Care Plan”
According to Kim Arnold, Salesforce’s Healthcare Market Leader, healthcare IT success will be based on easy access, personalized service, data on any device, and consistent and accessible data across channels.
Salesforce recognizes that healthcare organizations must stay agile to respond to rapid changes in regulation and patient expectations. That’s why it’s doubling down on Health Cloud for providers, payers, pharmaceuticals and med device companies. As a result, it’s broadening our scope to help payers and life science companies create deeper relationships with patients and members. At Dreamforce, we heard more about the four goals for Health Cloud:
1. Connect patients and health ecosystems.
2. Build personal journeys.
3. Access care on any device.
4. Get smarter, more predictive.
3. Quip Brings Salesforce into a New Game
A new player has entered the enterprise productivity race. For decades, Microsoft reigned as the market leader in enterprise productivity—until Google pushed into the space with Google Apps. Now, with the acquisition of Quip, Salesforce is getting in the game. Enterprise software giants across different verticals are moving in the direction of end-to-end solutions in an attempt to own more of the workflow. Salesforce’s acquisition of Quip will only intensify the competition.
In addition to exploring these and other new developments on the horizon, it was energizing to walk through the Expo Floor and see the ecosystems of products and services aligned to Salesforce across or applicable to all verticals. We’re excited to be working on a number of innovations across the healthcare IT continuum, but we also see many opportunities to forge new strategic partnerships that will allow us to deliver even greater seamless value to our clients down the road.
