Virsys12 wanted to give these amazing companies the opportunity to showcase what they do, and we are excited to share their stories with you.
Methodist Family Health
For 120 years, Methodist Family Health has cared for abused, abandoned and neglected children and families in Arkansas. Our roots stem from 1899 when we opened the Arkansas Methodist Orphanage in Little Rock. As we grew and expanded throughout the centuries, we sought to meet the psychiatric, behavioral, emotional and spiritual needs of children and families where they live throughout the state, whether in our emergency shelter, group homes, residential treatment centers, behavioral hospital or outpatient counseling services. Methodist Family Health provides a continuum of care for the state’s children and their families, and in 2017, that included 195,000 therapeutic services to almost 5,600 clients. We are humbled by and grateful for the financial support of the friends and neighbors of our clients throughout the state, without whom Methodist Family Health would not be able to rebuild the lives of children and families.

Tennessee Justice Center
Ms. C is a single mother of two children, divorced and living on a limited income from working a part-time job. Unfortunately, Ms. C and her children had lost their TennCare, a public health safety net program for low income Tennesseans. When she called the TJC for help, Ms. C was very anxious and concerned about having access to much needed health insurance for her and her family. Understanding the complexities of TennCare can be daunting for seasoned professionals, and it is even more complicated for those individuals with limited education and/or disabilities. We worked with Ms. C to better understand her financial situation and the custody arrangement with her ex-husband including the tax filing status of the children – key determinates for TennCare eligibility. We filed an appeal with the state on Ms. C behalf and won. Now, she and her family have access to the healthcare they need.
Since partnering with Virsys12, we have been able to create a technology solution that has enabled us to share our extensive knowledge of TennCare with other entities. With a laptop computer, a reliable internet connection, and a little training our partners can identify public health coverage for families like Ms. C’s without being a TennCare expert.
Since 1996, we have made an incredible impact for families throughout Tennessee, for moms and children with special needs, for older adults and caregivers, for people with disabilities and those who need long-term care, and many, many more. We help our neighbors one-by-one to cut through red tape to access vital, sometimes life-saving services like health care and nutrition benefits, and then use what we learn to improve systems affecting many more. Whether in the courtroom, newspaper, or the capital, TJC advocates for a state that reflects our communities’ shared values, that protects the dignity and opportunity of every person, and that supports the health care and economic infrastructure on which all our communities depend.

Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation

Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation (GBBF) promotes early childhood literacy in Tennessee’s birth to age five population. In partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, GBBF gives all Tennessee preschoolers the opportunity to receive a new, age-appropriate book monthly in the mail– at no cost to the family. Since 2004, 34+ million books have been mailed to Tennessee’s children. Our vision is a Tennessee where all preschool children have books in their homes, develop a love of reading and learning, and begin school prepared to succeed, from kindergarten throughout their educational journeys.
Giving children early access to books and reading significantly improves vocabulary, cognitive skills and supports the development of early literacy skills from birth. Tennessee studies show that Imagination Library participants outperform non-participants on academic assessments in kindergarten through early grades. Further, these students are more likely to regularly attend school and are less likely to be suspended.
