It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. As it does for many, the holiday season inspires the Virsys12 staff to support the community through volunteering and donations, while reflecting on our impact from the year.
Earlier this year Virsys12 partnered with Givful, a Nashville-based company that leverages their own technology to power Corporate Giving Programs to connect stakeholders and report impact. This new partnership allows Virsys12 the chance to easily match employee interests with opportunities to give back in the communities we belong to. Virsys12 has always made volunteering and giving back to the community a top priority, which is why twice a year, Virsys12 holds an off-site volunteer day, amongst many other community initiatives in our offices.
In late September, Virsys12 went offsite to Radnor Lake to volunteer for the “Radnor Lake Volunteer Day.” Radnor Lake is one of the busiest state parks in Tennessee. With Nashville growing every day, so is the foot traffic at Radnor Lake. With the increase in traffic at the park, more attention is needed to maintain the trails. Over the course of the summer the trails experience normal wear and tear, so it is necessary for the trails to be mulched twice a year. This is done so the trails are easier to walk for the visitors. As a result of limited resources, the staff at Radnor Lake relies on their two volunteer events to help properly maintain the park. With the help of the Virsys12 and many others, parts of the trails were able to be mulched during the afternoon session.
Just this week, Virsys12 partnered with the Nashville Salesforce staff to participate in the Full Tummies, Warm Hearts program through United Way of Williamson County. Full Tummies, Warm Hearts is an annual Thanksgiving food drive. Full Tummies began through the vision of a few women sitting around a table in conversation about our community. Members of the Patricia Hart Society women’s group launched the food drive to assist individuals and families in Williamson County who do not have the means to serve or enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Hosting a food drive at our office, we collected enough food to provide Thanksgiving dinners to the two families that Salesforce (Nashville) and Virsys12 “sponsored” this year.
Both experiences this fall have been great opportunities for the team at Virsys12 to bond and continue to grow, all while making an impact on the community around us. We are encouraged that the generosity and camaraderie of each holiday season is a part of the fabric of our company year-round, and we hope you experience the joy of giving back this year as well.
