Dreamforce 2018: Tips, Trends, Take-a-ways
October 2, 2018
How does Salesforce maintain its position as the largest technology conference in the world year over year? You continue to innovate like no one else. Dreamforce 2018 had too many highlights to capture in one blog, but here are Virsys12’s top tips, trends, and takeaways:
A new platform service that brings the power of voice to millions of Salesforce users via the first ‘conversational CRM’. You can vocally update Salesforce, get personalized daily briefings and surface specific dashboards on demand with voice over the mobile app or smart speaker. Read more here:
Women in Tech:
Never a better time to elevate these voices in technology. From lunches to educational sessions to roof-top receptions, more women are finding their seat at the table and intentionally reaching out to bring others. Our community has strong support at Salesforce. We thanked Tony Prophet at the networking session. Our CEO thanked Marc himself at his birthday party.
Never stop innovating:
Salesforce announced new expansion to its core Sales Cloud Platform, an AppExchange Storefront for Partners by Expertise, Low-Code Tools to build Apps faster, and our favorite, a new version of Health Cloud for Payers (works great with our V12 Network app for Provider Network Management).
Health Cloud Roadmap:
Speaking of Health Cloud, Health Cloud for Payers will have more native tools specific to payers, including membership and benefits data, insurance utilization and claims data analysis tools – all focused on a better member experience. AI enhancements and chatbots and links to other Clouds are part of the road map. It is time to take a serious look if your model includes patients/members.
A constant reminder that the “purpose of business is to improve the world” is the Salesforce commitment to contribute time, equity, and resources to those in need. We met many during Thursday’s career fair who were participating in programs to improve themselves such as Year Up, Mom Relaunch, JVS and Vetforce participants. Salesforce gave another $18 million in grants this year bringing the total to more than $50 million since 2013. Charity and philanthropy were in high gear with fundraising for the Benioff Children’s Hospital (thank you Metallica and Janet Jackson). Read more here:
Also Shared during Dreamforce:
Major Salesforce announcements with Apple (AI and app development), Lamborghini (connected customers), Diane von Furstenberg (immersive shopping experience), and more.
Announced During Dreamforce 2018 but not AT Dreamforce:
• NHCC announced the 500+ healthcare companies who call Nashville home generated an impact of $92 billion and 570,000 employees worldwide.
• US Dept of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex M Azar noted, “Nashville has become a thriving hub for healthcare innovation.”
It was a great week of inspiration. We were delighted to connect with our customers (and future customers) along with our Salesforce partners. We are thankful to be back at our HQ in Nashville (the headquarters for the business of healthcare).
